Very Good Security Achieves Amazon Web Services Partner Network Select Technology Partner Status

Today we are excited to announce that Very Good Security (VGS) has achieved Select Technology Partner status within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN). We are thrilled to work with AWS to provide customers modern data security and compliance solutions.

Since VGS’ inception, we have viewed AWS’s ability to offer specialized infrastructure as a parallel to strive toward. AWS allows companies to focus on their core businesses rather than spending significant amounts of time and resources building their own data centers. VGS does the same for data security and compliance.

In fact, VGS builds on AWS’ shared responsibility model for security and compliance. While AWS secures the physical infrastructure that runs its services in the AWS Cloud, VGS extends protections to safeguard our customers’ data wherever and however they need to use and exchange it. Through VGS, customers automatically inherit a robust security posture and can rapidly achieve compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC2, GDPR and more.

While top-notch data security and compliance are table stakes for doing business, for most companies they are neither core competencies nor competitive differentiators. With VGS, our customers can focus on what truly differentiates their business from the pack, be that an innovative debit card product, creating a new supply chain, or offering new commerce experiences in the on-demand space, to name a few examples.

“Data security and compliance are better left to the experts,” said Maurizio Caló Caligaris, the CTO and co-founder of Calii, a company automating the food supply chain in Latin America by connecting producers directly to households, restaurants and wholesalers. “Using VGS to handle our sensitive data has enabled us to focus our energy elsewhere and know that our customers’ data is fully protected. It’s given us peace of mind.”

Achieving APN Select Technology Partner status signifies the deepening of our relationship with AWS and our commitment to continue serving our common customers with solutions that make data security and compliance flexible and scalable for businesses of all sizes.

How the AWS Shared Responsibility Model Revolutionized Compliance and Data Security

Traditional methods don’t make it easy for companies to become compliant and protect user data. For crypto startups like Gem or leading marketing platforms like Fivestars, securing customer data security is mandatory – but it’s often cost-prohibitive and distracting.

Get Fine-grained Permissions with Vault Level Access Control

Role-based access control (RBAC) is a widely used mechanism for managing permissions. It is popular for the simplicity it offers in managing user permissions based on users’ roles within your organization. VGS customers who have long benefited from an organization-level RBAC have asked for fine-grained access control to their vaults.
