Working from home has been an adjustment for everyone this year. With many new factors to keep in mind, employees have taken on additional responsibilities to create a space that is safe and productive.

Very Good Security wants to help! At VGS, one of our company values is “Empowered to find a way,” meaning the People team has come up with a variety of ways to support our employees so that they can focus on their best work regardless of their location.

Set up your home office:

We want our employees to do their best work, wherever they are. VGS offers a one-time $250 stipend allowance for our new hires to set up their workspace to enhance the working conditions.

Support for parents and caregivers:

Parenting is a juggling act, especially when working from home. Very Good Security wants to support you both in your career and during those big life changes. We offer a generous leave program for you to take time off and enjoy your growing family. Paid leave coordinates with state paid leave, where applicable.

Focus on your wellness:

We’re a global company, and with this in mind, we provide multiple wellness benefits for our people. In the USA, you’ll benefit from our Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health Platforms, a space where your mental health comes first. In our UA locations, we offer support via our partner Goodoo, where you can choose between scheduled chats or call sessions to focus on your wellness.

Staying connected:

It’s not easy being apart from our colleagues. We’ve prioritized staying connected in a remote world with fun events and special occasions!

We host company-wide monthly virtual happy hours that feature activities such as trivia and interactive games. Members of the company also volunteer to share skills and knowledge, such as how to make enchiladas or how Javascript networks work, during our bi-weekly “chat and learn” sessions.

We also leverage remote-friendly, purpose-built programs such as Donut that create human connection. We may be sitting around the globe, but this program enables teammates from different departments across the company to connect and get to know each other.

Onboarding process for employees starting while remote:

We’re excited to welcome you to the Very Good Security team and want our employees to feel comfortable and empowered to start, with all the right tools.

We introduce new team members to the entire company via Slack and in our bi-weekly all-hands meeting.

Our onboarding team hosts multiple sessions to ensure you have the answers you need to succeed here at Very Good Security.

Return to office plans:

Very Good Security is a global company with a remote-first philosophy. We have offices in San Francisco, Lviv, Ukraine, and Kyiv, Ukraine, and are offering voluntary returns to our offices post-Covid, giving our people flexibility to choose what works best for their situations!

We have seen the advantages of opening our team collaboration up to a global level and the benefits of not being restrained to specific locations alone to support our customers and employees.

With this, we have renewed focus on moving towards becoming a fully remote company. We’re open to hiring around the globe and compensate our team members competitively based on their locations!

Time to recharge:

In addition to all of the above, we offer a generous time-off policy. Employees are encouraged to take that time each year, which is particularly important during this unprecedented time.
