Very Good Security is delighted to announce that Paul Machle, former CFO of Gitlab, has joined VGS as our first Chief Financial Officer. Paul is a seasoned leader whose experience in high-growth companies is ideally suited to the opportunities and challenges ahead for VGS.
This past year VGS more than doubled our customer base while facilitating the secure exchange of over 2 billion records of sensitive data. We also bookended 2020 with two major funding announcements: a strategic investment from Visa early in the year, followed by our recently announced $60 million Series C. The new funds will be used to thoughtfully accelerate VGS’ growth as we continue to deliver on our promise to customers.
Under Paul’s leadership, Gitlab grew revenues from $600K to over $150M. Along the way, the Gitlab team also wrote the playbook for all-remote work, which is more relevant than ever given today’s global economy and the impacts of COVID-19.
VGS has operated with a distributed team since its earliest days. Augmenting our executive team with experienced leaders who have successfully managed and mentored distributed teams underscores our commitment to our employees and customers around the world.
Having helped lead category-defining companies through periods of tremendous growth in the past, Paul understands the unique challenges facing hyper-growth organizations. His experience will be a welcome contribution to VGS as we look to scale operations while maintaining our commitment to customers. We are thrilled that Paul has joined VGS on our mission to secure the world’s sensitive data.
